My first inspiration to create this series started while looking for different color palettes. I ran across a collection of photographs where ladies were modeling Mulberry Handbags. They were simple and beautiful. The colors were vivid and the lines were distinct. I was in love...
Then, it dawned on me that I didn't really know what a mulberry was, so I looked up the definition. After reading, I knew I had found my start...

Mulberries grow wild and like humans, when they are young, they are fast-growing and then soon slow down as they age.
Mulberries are long and short, and grow in temperate regions all over the world. Immature mulberries are white, green, or pale yellow. As they mature, most mulberries turn pink, then red. At their peak, the mulberry turns dark purple or black, with a bold sweet flavor.

Interestingly enough, there is also the white mulberry. In America, is it considered an exotic. It has a flavor that is described as refreshing and a little tart with a hint of vanilla.

Inspired by what is both cultivated and wild, this series of abstracts shows off what I feel is my interpretation of the Mulberry. I hope you love it as much as I did creating it!
